Snowdog is designed to be conveniently set up and transported in a trunk of an SUV or pickup truck. The sleds are designed to be used as a transportation base for the Snowdog. Place Snowdog into the sleds and position it in the trunk, tie using straps to fix it in one position.
SnowDog towing capacity varies depending on the model size (Compact or Standard), engine power and type of surface (snow depth, ice, marsh, mud, grass, etc). Guaranteed cargo load for 6.5 hp engine Compact is 150 kg/330 lbs and more, for Compact models - 200 kg/ 440 lbs and more, for Standard models - 300 kg/ 650 lbs and more.
Provided that there is not much water underneath, SnowDog runs over snow up to 50 cm/ 20 in deep. In most cases, a SnowDog can continue in situations that become unpassable for ATV or on foot.
The maximum grade which the SnowDog is capable of passing varies with types of surface (ice, snow, rocky surfaces, etc.). Generally, the SnowDog can pass areas, where a person could climb on foot without using one’s hands for additional balance. However, this is a heavy duty operation for SnowDog, resulting to increased wear of the belt and the continuously variable transmission, so do not overuse riding across hills. A long ride uphill also has an impact on the engine: the engine is lubricated by spraying, but the operation in a sloped position is an abnormal operation mode with potential oil starvation, which can also result in premature engine wear. Please refer to the engine owner manual for the operating incline angle limitations.
Ice may have different strength based on its recency, purity and water salinity. The strongest is clean recent ice in fresh water with no noticeable under-ice flow. Other conditions decrease the strength of the ice. If this “ideal” ice is an example, the SnowDog is capable of supporting a human with as little as 5cm of thickness (as the surface pressure of a SnowDog is less than of a human). But water bodies do not freeze uniformly, thus ice riding is only possible at 10cm of thickness, since the driver should be able to walk on any ice which is traveled over.
Please refer to the engine manufacturer`s owner manual for the environment operating temperatures.
Warranty period for SnowDog is 1 year. For service and warranty repairs please contact our dealers.
We do not recommend use of a SnowDog for children under 16 years old, not because of the children’s inability to control SnowDog, they can control it easily, but rather the awareness of their actions and consequences
SnowDogs are prohibited on public roads. Concerning snowmobile roads, we recommend consulting with the owners of the roads.
SnowDog is equipped with an automatic oil level sensor that shuts the engine with a low oil level or when SnowDog is at a large angle of inclination. In case of engine shut down, we recommend to place the SnowDog in the horizontal position, check the oil level and start the engine.
For the continuously variable transmission and bearings, NLGI-2 or higher standard lithium greases are recommended. To grease chains, use a wintertime spray lubricant for motorcycle chains.
There is a tow ring provided at the back of the sledge, which is used to attach the second sledge.
SnowDog always moves at a slight angle, i.e. the drive sprocket is always raised above the ground and does not touch it. Should the SnowDog hit an obstacle with the chain/sprocket, no damage will occur as the sprocket and chain constantly rotate and the SnowDog simply runs over the obstacle.
SnowDog’s design provides a downward supported floating handle bar, eliminating injury by stationary handle bars.
